Tarek Anwar’s long and diverse career has centred around people and together building successful and sustainable multibillion dollar businesses. He has spent the largest part of his professional life with Bank of America and Standard Chartered Bank, as managing director and corporate banking co-head of Europe. In 2016, Tarek launched his own company, FinVelo, which focuses on 3 core areas: coaching senior leaders at the top of their game, providing board level NED/advisory counsel, and mentoring entrepreneurs. Over the past 9 years he has worked with social impact tech founders to amplify their reach, he was a trustee of ASTRiiD, a brilliant young British charity and was a President & Group CEO of a privately held multi-industry group in the Middle East. Tarek is currently a visiting Professor of Entrepreneurship at ESCP business school; an advisor to Drumwave a rising Silicon Valley Tech company; and an advisory board member to ReMake a British charity.

Tarek brings the insights of his long, and successful career to his coaching, working with a hugely diverse clientele, across multiple industries and geographies. From Leaders in financial institutions, governments and multilateral agencies, to large private sector corporates and family owned, multi-generation businesses to startup founders.

Tarek has a unique way of blending his in-depth understanding of the corporate and business world with a mindfulness based approach to individual leadership transformation. His passion and energy is contagious and he has a talent for combining both Eastern and Western business philosophies in a way that is both creative and fun.

His interests include food, music, art, nature walks, Tai Chi, photography, and humour. His love of music goes beyond listening to actually creating and recording, and he often indulges his adventurous self by exploring the world on two wheels – both with and without an engine.
