Karl Schmidt-Degen originates from Germany. With over 20 years of experience in management across industrial, automotive, and logistic related sectors, Karl has earned himself a reputation for innovating systems, products, and organisations. 

Karl’s career has taken him and his family to Switzerland, China, and Singapore. He has worked with family businesses and large corporations in agricultural machinery, waste disposal, automotive engineering, and mechanical engineering. In recent years, he has focused on IT startups, manufacturing, global trading houses,  and government organisations. He has co-founded two startups and successfully launched five new spin-off entities in South-East Asia for his companies.

Karl specialises in organisational diagnostics, change management, business development, people management, product creation, and architectural innovation in disruptive market environments. He is also an experienced change manager who has been actively involved in several restructuring processes. 

Karl’s experience in operative business, coupled with his extensive knowledge base, creates a unique style of coaching and consulting that his clients always appreciate. He employs a situational approach to his coaching practice, meaning that his clients receive the coaching appropriate to their needs in any given moment. Karl’s style is guided by the idea that you cannot coach in the past or the future, only in the here and now.

Karl regularly practices yoga, is curious about a diverse range of books and teas, and loves to spend time engaging with people and listening to their individual stories.
