The most powerful part of an organization is the team. An effective team shares mutual accountability for the team objective. ALI uses the reinforcement of behavioral change to develop trust and commitment.
The ALI Leadership Development Process is based on individual behavioral change. In order for change to occur consistent reinforcement of a new behavior is required.
Our primary tool to effect this change is to develop a “Leadership Development Plan” (LDP) for each of the members of the team. It is not so much the LDP, but the process we use to develop and reinforce the LDP that is important.
Firstly, our approach is keyed on creating a clearing where it is safe for everyone on the team to be honest and open, and where he/she can develop trust and mutual support across the team.
Secondly, we get everyone to commit to not only to his/her own development, but to be supportive of the development of each other. Moreover, the support they commit to provide is not a passive involvement but to be an active participant in each other’s development. This includes giving honest and timely feedback on an ongoing basis. It is through this active team involvement that we provide each of the team members with the reinforcement and support for their LDP, while at the same time developing the effectiveness and trust across the team.
Our role in this process is to coach the individuals in their progress. We are outside of the team and serve as an added feedback loop. We are impartial and focus the team members on constructive and honest interactions with each other. Our aim is to ensure that all the individuals become more aware of their behaviors and those of the team. We use the LDP to maintain the openness between team members. To accomplish this outcome, we will use a combination of telephone, e-mail and face-to-face communication.
This process of consistent reinforcement effects change at three levels:
ALI Guarantee
The Development Plan will be worked out in detail with professional assistance and coaching for a period of six months, at which time an open review of progress should be undertaken.
ALI is committed to this ongoing coaching process and to the satisfaction and growth of our clients. If during the evaluation process your team finds that the six months of follow-up was not the most useful part of the team leadership development program, we will not charge for this service.
