Many of our clients have been working with us for a number of years. As our clients have developed, many have asked for more in-depth traditional training to develop their meditation and leadership skills. The Asian Leadership Institute has responded to these requests by offering five-day Mindfulness Retreats.

Mindfulness – attention to the process as it unfolds – is a simple technique albeit not easy to master. It has been described as the application of oneself to the present moment. That is the conscious observation – with non-judgmental clarity – of the processes arising in our surroundings and ourselves. This retreat allows us five full days to practice mindfulness.

Practice

Practice is defined as performing habitually in order to polish a skill. In the context of developing mindfulness it is being aware of what’s going on. People either are aware of the present moment or most often they are running on “automatic pilot”.

It they are conscious they can choose their response. If they are not they become victims of recurring, often inappropriate, even painful patterns. Being aware (mindfulness) is a prerequisite for change. This practice is an ongoing process that can be applied to any activity or undertaking. This retreat prepares you to understand and practice being mindful.

There are long periods of silence in this retreat that allows internal patterns and struggles to arise naturally in a relaxed setting. The silent support of the other participants going through their own process creates a sense of community without verbal communication that allows us a deep understanding of what happens beyond the words of our communication with others.

The retreat takes place in our quiet and serene environment in Chiang Mai, where introspection and silence are a natural part of the day. The executive mindfulness retreat is an excellent place of learning for those prepared to blend a more traditional spiritual approach with effective business practice.

This service is provided by ALI to its existing clients by donation.
